Tunnel Boring Australia Pty Ltd is a Brisbane based contracting company that specializes in trenchless pipeline installation and was established in 2002 by Carmine Rea & Stephen Mellish. Both directors have been heavily involved in all aspects of the trenchless industry for over 25 years. The company offers services in three particular disciplines: cased auger boring, vacuum micro-tunneling & pipe jacking and has been involved in countless projects all over Australia & overseas for a wide variety of clients ranging from government departments to major infrastructure contractors. TBA has also developed a system for retrievable deep shaft installation of steel segmental caissons, most recently a 7m deep, 6.2m diameter shaft for the Coops Drainage and Civil project in Deebing Heights. This system also includes a set four jacking hydraulic rams (gallows) which ensure the controlled sinking & retrieval of the shaft segments. The number of the jacking hydraulic rams increases proportionally with the increase of the dimensions of the shaft.
All of TBA’s horizontal drilling & shaft sinking equipment is designed in house and manufactured in our workshop in Yatala, Queensland. The technology used in our operations is the very latest available and our commitment to the continuous improvement of our services has positioned Tunnel Boring Australia Pty Ltd at the forefront of our industry.
